How Aurora Strings Are Made: A Factory Tour
October 17, 2025
Every Aurora set starts with a simple goal: consistent feel from string one to string six, seven, eight, or beyond. That only happens when winding, coloring, inspection, and packing all stay disciplined.
At our Bridgeport shop, cores are tensioned first, then wound to spec for the target instrument family. Operators measure for pitch stability, winding consistency, and coating adhesion before a set ever reaches final packaging.
The color stage is cosmetic, but the standard is not. We apply the finish so it stays even along the speaking length and does not turn into a sticky or flaky mess after a few rehearsals.
The inspection stage is where most of the work hides. Gauges are checked, wraps are inspected, and sets get matched so the player opens a pack that feels intentional instead of approximate.
The result is still a guitar string. But it is a guitar string built by people who know that tiny inconsistencies become very noticeable once a player is under stage lights or tracking with headphones on.
